Who Are We?
Flowers, Farm & Photography:
doing things differently than the rest.
Why “Grip”?
Named after Charles Dickens’ pet raven, Grip, who was the inspiration for Edgar Allan Poe’s famous poem, The Raven, Grip’s Flower Company brings you flowers (and more) with a literary & proud Maryland twist.
Come Visit & see the difference for yourself.
Our Mission:
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - We’ve heard that since elementary school, but here at Grip’s we take it to heart. Most items you purchase from us are in recycled or reused containers, as we pledge to do our part in limiting waste.

About the Farmer
Hi, I’m cat! I vividly remember riding past the crops at the University of Nebraska and telling my parents I was going to go to school there to study agriculture (I was probably 10). Well, I didn’t. I went to school for something completely different, commissioned into the United States Army and started on a different path.
One day my husband says “I found an old house with property in Carroll County, MD that needs a lot of work.” The way he said it made it sound like there wasn’t even plumbing. Thankfully, there was and it did need a lot of work, but we’ve made it home since then and all the pieces, since that ride in Lincoln, Nebraska fell into place.
Here I bring together my love of classic literature, of Maryland, of planting & creating, a long lineage of farmers and those who have worked the land, a passion for the pollinators, and a unique perspective. Grip’s is all of that and more and I can’t wait for you to experience it and hear YOUR story!
